2 trucks from IA to FL ... got as far as Tifton, GA tonight, about an hour from the GA-FL line.

Setting the alarm for 5 AM sounded too early so we set it for 5:30, but BB was up at 5 AM anyway. I was half awake and had been a good share of the night. Not sure if that chocolate cookie was to blame? I don't touch anything with caffeine in it so I may be more sensitive than most.

Last night ... When we were getting to the motel, our freeway merged into another freeway from the left and we had to exit on the right. In about 1 mile, during rush hour traffic. We did it but if we stay there again we will find a different way in. And not likely we will stay there again. There was a pretty steep climb to get up to the street, good chance we would bottom out with an RV.

We ate breakfast and were ready to roll at 6:45. As expected, there was not much traffic that time of the morning in Nashville. Cops were responding to a few cars in the median, ditch. Not sure if they just happened or they were just getting around to them.

It was 68 degrees when

Rained a good share of the day again today, but we were able to stay ahead of the really nasty stuff.

1st stop was for a break in Jasper at the Loves. Never been to this location before, driven past it dozens of times. Used to be a fireworks store between the freeway lanes at this exit. A Speedway truckstop is there now and the fireworks store is across from the Loves. There was a lot across the street in the center of the freeway but it must have been $$$. Interesting that a few years ago Speedway sold off their truckstops from one merger to Pilot. Now they are competing with Pilot. Thortons also had truck stops that were co-branded Pilot and now I see more new truck stops that are competing with Pilot.

No issues with any of the big cities today, Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta.

Didn't have to stop at any of the scales today, got the 'OK to bypass' on all of them. We will likely have to stop at the scale in FL and then the fruit inspection station.

2nd stop was at the TA in Cartersville, GA. We knew they had fast food but once we were inside we decided to see if the Country Pride had hot food. They did, so that is where we ate. BB managed to drop the top cover of the soup into the soup so they had to bring out 'new' soup. Buffet one for the day. This place also had Burger King, Popeyes, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Lots of choices.

BB also fueled at the TA, I did not. I wanted to wait and see how far I could get.

3rd stop, fuel for me at the Pilot in Byron. Pump screen locked up on me so I had to go inside to get the pump started. They didn't have any issue ... but I found out that INSIDE, I need to swipe my rewards card first ... outside I do the credit card first. I hadn't done the math so I guessed that I was getting 15 mpg. That didn't bring my range up enough so the next time we stop I will try to get my range to where it is supposed to be by using 12 mpg.

4th and final stop for the night is the Comfort Inn in Tifton. We should have been able to make it to Valdosta but didn't try. We had driven over 400 miles today ... wow. Tomorrow will be about 300 miles.

1st buffet was at the Country Pride this AM, tonight we walk to the Golden Corral for our 2nd buffet. :) I'm full enough.

Only one new/old one on the board today, It looks like one of these IA tree trucks ended up in the shop near Iowa City. And it's heading to CA. But we are in FL. Other than that, nothing seems to have been added or taken off the board today.

Spending time tonight looking at the options. Head home, wait for work. And the legistics of getting our trucks and rental car to the drop on Monday. Airport is about 10 miles from the drop, but no cheap motels. There is a cheaper motel near the drop about half way between.
