1 bus to White Bear Lake MN (canceled)

1 trash truck to Springfield MO (sometime over the weekend)

... spending the night at home

I got a call mid morning to move a bus to a shop from our storage lot. Before we got ready, I got another call saying that someone else had started the bus since the call and it now said 'stop engine.' Within the hour I got a third call that the bus would have to be towed/flatbedded to the shop.

So I didn't even get to the office so no pay for this non-trip. It is fitting, the last three buses I had my name on all had major issues and they were from three different bus companies.

We did have errands to do so now we do not have to fit them all into tomorrow. We had an insurance check that was made out to both us and the bank. After talking to 10 (?) people on the phone, BB finally talked to someone who gave us the info and the 'how to' get the check cashed.

So off to the bank, helpful person but they were not in any rush. They seemed more interested in telling us about all the features of their bank than getting us in and out in the least amount of time. Interesting thing. BB and I bought the house a few months after we were married. Both names are on the title but only BB's name is on the loan ... and only my name was on the insurance check. :) The person at the bank made a point of pointing that out, but the computer did not have an issue with him entering the data so he didn't have a problem with signing off on the check.

Now that we have a fully endorsed check for thousands of dollars, we headed straight to 'our' bank and deposited without even having to show an ID.

From there we went to drop off my paperwork with the local dispatch. Three buses in the lot so not sure which one had the issue.

After than we headed to Norman Quacks. Locked, it is 12 noon and they do not open until 3 PM 'because of covid.' (Or short staffing)

Joseph's it was. Constant people coming and going and not all of them were over 60 years old. I had the French Dip and cheese curds. Could only eat half so that is my supper.

By 3 PM I decided that I wasn't going to get a better offer so I called dispatch and agreed to take the Springfield MO trip. There will be someone on call at the shipper if I have an issue.

For our long haul company there had been a Sioux Falls and Chippewa Falls order last night. By tonight there was a Brainerd and Chippewa Falls. And there are also a couple of 'rental trucks that need to be at the Des Moines airport by Monday AM. Easy work IF we didn't have two family functions planned for this weekend.
