Going ... nowhere.

When we were in the office a few days ago, I had asked when we could call in for trips. I was told that we could call in for trips leaving Thursday thru Sunday on Wednesday but we couldn't call in for trips leaving Monday until Monday.

Then this AM, we are looking at trips and realize the load board is going down, and then up. The office worked a full day today and late in the day I called in and was told they plan on working tomorrow also.

It doesn't really change anything. We were not going to go anywhere until Sunday (or Monday) it's more the trips we had been looking at are now gone and we are doing math on new trips.

We talked about lining up a trip today but didn't. Now the plan is to look at the weather again in the AM and decide then if we are heading west ... or south east. West pays better if we can keep moving. And we did the math enough times that we have an idea of which trips will net better.

We look at some trips and picking up work coming home. But on a short trip, even a few mile 2nd leg can add an extra hotel and extra day's rental car. That means that short trip needs to pay close to $500 to make it worth it. Most don't.

Off topic, I did have such a fun morning. I finally called on an email account of mine where the host has stopped supporting the software. After being on the phone for an hour, they finally put me through to their supervisor ... who in a couple of minutes explained that it wasn't just the software that was no longer being supported, I would also need to find a new place to host my emails also. :( I will double check on that, and if true I will switch to a free @Gmail or @Hotmail account instead of paying to host my own site.
