2 RV's to Davis CA

... spending the night at Rawlins WY

Up early enough. Breakfast here is good. Fresh scrambled eggs, plus lots more.

When we went to leave, we could here geese ... we looked up ... we looked west ... east ... north. As far as we could see in every direction there were geese flying in formation. Sometimes at different elevations so they were over lapping each other.

I thought I took a video. But as often happens, I didn't. It started filming when I put it in my pocket. Not sure I would have gotten anything anyways. they were high in the sky, and on each horizon were miles away.

... and by the time we were done doing our inspection. They were all gone.

Looking online it says there are '100's of 1,000's' this time of year. We also saw the random smaller 'V's' later in the day. But no sand cranes. Not even one. Did see a few swans and four bald eagles.

Should have kept going last night, yesterday we had a tailwind, today we have a head wind. Down from 19 mpg to 14 mpg.

1st stop is a rest area in Brady.

Before we get to our second stop, I see a semi making a U-turn in the median. I can't see who it is from where I am, but I can see the tracks ... and they go into the rest area. And only one truck was moving in the rest area. A carrier I know. :(

2nd stop was the Loves in Sidney for fuel and then food from the Taco Johns.

3rd stop was the Port of Entry for our permits.

Before we got there, we could see the new snow on the ground. That was another reason BB did not want to go further last night. She could see where the snow was forecast to be and when. We did hit a few flakes here but mostly rain.

From here to Laramie and then to Rawlins is where we saw more snow. Just out of Cheyenne a few miles and up a few feet and the ground has a thick snow cover. And the snow drifts are most of the way to the top of their 20 foot high snow fences.

4th stop is in Laramie for fuel at Loves. I only put in 11 gallon but I didn't have enough to get to our next (main) fuel stop without adding some.

It's only 2 PM local but Rawlins will be our 500 miles so we will be shutting down there. I don't like to waste daylight but at 500 mile days we will still be taking all of Sunday off, waiting for the drop to open Monday AM. So we do not need to push.

5th and final stop is the Comfort Inn in Rawlins. After we check in, we drive one RV to Penny's Dine for food. We are the only ones in there. It is not 4 PM here yet but we ate early and it is close to 5 for us.

Tomorrow is more of a challenge. We have to get our NV permit for late enough in the day that we can get out by that same time the next day. NV is the only state I know of that has a one day, timed permit. I would think they would want people to stay and gamble.

Plan is to get to Elko. The next town is another 100 miles so not likely. And 150 to the one with the made to order breakfast.

And I need to call for a permit tomorrow, call the drop and the bus dispatcher.
