1 RV heading to Davenport IA

... spending the night at Albert Lea MN

There had been a trip from IA to Lincoln NE yesterday but BB didn't want as she didn't think I would be done early enough with my things to get down to IA today.

My 'thing' lasts from 8 to about noon.

About 1:30 IA adds a trip to Davenport. I tell BB about it but she comes up with six different topics before she realizes I am sitting grinning at her ... "Yes, I'm waiting to see if someone else takes the trip before I call." she said. Then she called and got the trip.

We each need to do a trip once every 30 days. Then we get a warning that we have another 30 days to take a trip or be terminated. And actually the termination doesn't happen until after 90 days. And if you are going to be gone over 90 days all we need to do is call a dispatcher and have them place us as 'in-active' in the computer. I think that is good for another six months before someone higher up needs to OK us to be off longer.

That is why BB is working and I am driving the shuttle. That and this is something she will drive and I will drive most anything that shows up as long as we are doing short runs.

There are a few short runs out of Chicago right now but we would only have time to do one and it is not something I want to drive so we will pass.

We decided to head down tonight so we can pick up and deliver the same day. And we MAY be home again tomorrow night if there is no work and it doesn't make it another 14 hour day.

Load board

US - 368

IA - 133

MN - 3

WI - 11

Today is the last day of the month, IA dumped another 40 RV's on the load board at the end of the day.

There is a tree truck out of Albert Lea heading to OH and a straight truck heading to NY out of Mankato.

Now the shortest no-tow out of IA is 500 plus miles. We will keep watching for another more local one for Friday. Or we will call my local company on Friday.

Then off for the long weekend.
