Rough to leave such a nice room. Missed taking a picture of the sunrise by about five minutes. But not a good day to do stuff outside, air quality warning. Really hazy as we left this AM. Didn't leave until almost noon, no big rush.

Stopped 15 miles down the road at Loves to fuel, we'll see if that was enough fuel to make it the rest of the way. Problem may be that I used 10 mpg instead of the lowest 8 mpg that I got.

About an hour of none freeway before we get to I-8.

We wanted to eat in Yuma so that is over 120 miles so we have to make one rest area stop. Sentinel. Almost no parking but BB's rig is short so she took a car spot and I parked behind someone.

Yuma ... I thought it was exit 2, but at exit 3 it said next exit 2 miles ... so we stopped. Exit 2 it was, lots of parking at Sams Club today as they were closed for the holiday. In-and-Out burger was the meal, a double, double for each of us. And in and out in under a half hour, with no line, when we left there was quite a line out the door ... timing.

Just one quick question at the ag inspection station, a long time since I was even stopped. Signs for the boarder station were still there but no boarder station. We had been noticing that at times 3/4 of the traffic we were meeting were either RV/motor homes and / or pulling dune buggies. Once into CA, we were in the area of Royal Dunes Park. Lots of dune's. not sure how big it is but we just saw a tip of it.

We saw a lot of something in rows, looked like shrubs, maybe small trees. Could just be dormant, but they looked more like someone lost their water source and the crops died. Somewhere around Tacna. Lots of RV parks and lots of them just parked in the desert.

A long five hour day today including stops. The Quality Inn in El Centro was about half the price of those in El Cajon so we are saving the money and getting an early start in the AM. A Denny's plus a sports bar share the same building as the motel. One hundred miles left for Tuesday.

Walked indoors over to Denny's. I tried there new meatloaf, pretty good.
