Let's start with the not so good. A couple of days ago I was sending emails from one of my accounts and it wanted me to re-log in. And it asked for an answer to a security question. I don't remember ever setting one up. Anyhow, this AM I tried to contact the company and spent lots of time getting nowhere and got delayed getting going so we were pushing it all day ... and I may have lost my account because I can't remember something that likely never existed in the first place. :(

Dah good news. We got the trip we wanted to NC. So as soon as we drop our rental car on Sunday we are heading back out.

Lots of breakfast at this place. We've stayed here before and no issues.

After getting a late start we were on the road with our first stop in Stratford, TX at the Pilot. Next stop at the Wendy's in Liberal. They put the Wendy's right on a prime corner of two US highways ... and now the DOT has blocked one of the driveways. We had planned on stopping for fuel in Liberal but the prices had gone up by $.06 so we didn't.

Same thing in Pratt, prices are not the same as Gasbuddy says so we don't get fuel. We do stop at the newer Casey's for a rest stop.

We had been getting up to 44.5 mpg before I stopped again for fuel. I thought the slower speeds would get the mpg up but now they are going down again. We did see a Ma-Pa station for $2.19 but someone was right behind me when I saw it and didn't want to make any quick moves so we drove past. Fuel was supposed to be the same price in Burrton but it wasn't. By now the range was down to under 50 miles so I filled ... cost us a whole $.72 more than we thought. :)

Stopped in Emporia for a Burger King, then on to Ottowa for the night at a Comfort Inn. Most of the motels in Kansas City do not get very good reviews and we know this motel. Had hoped to get further but my email issue held me up and now they are 'closed for the weekend.'

Plan for tomorrow is to get the car returned before sunset at MSP. Plan for Sunday is to do our inspection after it warms up a little more :) ... then we head to NC. NC has been putting work on the board and we are hoping for a good second leg. They had some earlier to Walla Walla and one to LA so we'll keep hoping.

Did OK on this trip even with just one leg. But we've been out 10 days already, we'll see how much longer before we need a day or two at home ... in below zero weather.
