<<< I've added a couple of PHOTO's <<<

I haven't felt like I've been sleeping good this trip, but I haven't gotten tired during the day so I must be getting enough sleep. ??

Here breakfast at the in-house restaurant comes with the room. And the place opens at 5 AM so we have never gone without when staying here. We get a choice and we go with meat and eggs. Meat is four large, thick slices of bacon. Plus two scrambled eggs, toast and juice. Hated to do it, but we had to leave a slice of bacon, too much.

Got going right as the sun was coming up. Too many neon lights to the east to get a good picture, but got a good picture of the sun hitting the top of a mountain to the west.

Did see another bus heading east this AM. This one just said 'Metro' so not much help as to where it was going.

On most trips we try to fill 'X' number of mile from our drop based on what mileage we are getting instead of adding the correct amount of fuel closer to the drop. We guessed that Loveloch would be that spot this trip so that was our first stop. Cards weren't working at the pump so we went inside and paid cash. Before we went in, someone came over and told us they were not working and that they were going to the Chevon across the street ... REALLY??? Fuel at the Chevron was over $.70 a gallon more ... just to be able to use the credit card. :) and we saved $.06 a gallon by paying cash. On about 5 gallons each.

Website says they are still checking for chains on Donner's Pass so we will need to stop in Verdi. If the pass was closed, we would stop before Verdi so we'd have a place to park, but as long as they are letting trucks through very few people shut down.

At the Flying J in Fernley there were two of our RV's in the lot with the window shades down so they must have still been sleeping in them. Other than having the winter wrap on the front, they were the same style as ours, but different colors so they were not the two we saw yesterday in UT.

Just past Ferley, people were setting up a motocross bike track. Lots of cars and trailers waiting and graders and dozer's still working on the track.

No notices on the overhead signs, but we can't look at our phones while we are driving so we stop in Verdi. Roads are open. As long as we are here we use the restrooms.

No issues at the produce inspection area. Our NV permits are only good for 24 hours. We were a half hour late entering the state and only had an hour to spare leaving the state. No idea why they do it this way, they are the only state that does a one day permit.

Roads are all clear. Again, should have had the camera out. Some snow cuts are two plus stories high, taller and fresher than last trip. But the snow is melting fast. The south facing cuts are now a few feet behind the marker posts and the snow would only have been blow as far AS the marker posts. Didn't stop at the rest area to take pictures.

Drove most of the up and down at about 60 mph, anything more than that and it want's to tac out at over 4,000 RPMs. Plus there are a lot of 55 mph curves. Followed a convoy of Jeeps for a while until they pulled off at a rest area.

Lunch today was at the (Western) Sizzler. Huge lot but kind of down in hole so I wouldn't want to take a bus in there. We were there a few minutes after they opened so there was plenty of parking, still was when we left. Not much for hot food, but a good salad bar. I had noticed one person stirring a lot of the food so before we left I made a comment to them. They are to stir the food once every 10 minutes. PLUS they had most all their food labeled.

Next stop was the Walmart in Dixon ... because we knew where it was and that they had enough parking. When I went in to the restroom there was an older guy doing the potty dance waiting for one of the stalls. When I walked out, I stood next to the door waiting for BB. I glanced up once from my phone and there was an elderly WOMAN walking out of our men's room.

Two hours left, next stop will be the fuel next door to our motel. Both hands on the wheel, 2-4-6-8 lanes of traffic down I-80, I-680 and US-101. No stop and go but plenty of traffic and all in a rush. Did have one person in the same type of RV wave at both of us as they pasted. Also had some guy on a motorcycle give me the 'thumbs up' ... but in a way that I'm not sure what he meant.

It was a LONG two hours.

When we get to the fuel stop it is packed, I had to either back into a pump or exit the station, and then some guy parks where I am trying to back so I have a narrow spot to aim for.

Motel is RIGHT next door. The 'on site' food is closed, it used to be a Chevy's. Motel is a Quality Inn. Because of RV's are longer than cars were were looking for the best place to park them and before we got moved someone took one of the spots. Luckily they left again before I got parked so I moved to my 1st choice. We are done for the day and off tomorrow.

Once we get to our room, we spend the first 10-15 minutes deciding if we have a king bed or a queen bed. We step it off, we measure using a piece of paper. We end up keeping the room but even the next morning BB is complaining that the bed was too narrow. (It's bigger than a queen, smaller than a king ... inches)

Closest food is the Black Bear across the street. Most of the food is across the freeway at or near the Outlet mall. Food was good, I ordered the 'smaller portion.' Meatloaf that came with soup and two sides, plus a bun. I couldn't eat it all. BB had the chicken salad sandwich. After last time I don't dare ... yet. This time her's was different. A lot more kick than the smooth usual salad. She ended up eating my veggies and I still couldn't eat it all.
