Got up for breakfast. Asked for a late checkout. Ate the left over pizza from last night. Over all not too exciting of a day.

Got another call from a co-driver, he has decided to move on to a new company. It will be interesting to hear about, the company pays most expenses but they are still contract drivers. He lives in the Twin Cities and the closest customer is near Des Moines, so even a longer deadhead than we have.

Our excitement for today is finding the PO and getting gas for under $4.

We drive back to Livermore to our outlet center and take a walk. This time a couple of laps before we get something to drink. BB goes for Subway and I go to Haagen Dazs. Then we go sit in the car and wait for the next almost three hours. I view the web for a few minutes before taking a nap in the car. A nice breeze and 65 today here.

At 3:15 I call dispatch again. Still no work, go to a motel and try again tomorrow. With the storms heading in at home we are more than willing to stay.

There was an RV from OR back to IA for a few minutes before someone grabbed it. Looked at the whole board and it was up over 200 total with -0- out of IA. Right now the board seems to be split over a wide number of states ... except CA.

Once we knew we were staying it took a while to decide WHERE to stay. BB didn't want to drive back to Lathrup because of the traffic. I don't want to use rewards points if the company is paying and neither of us want to stay at the cheap motels. Motels are up again over $200 again today ... after discounts. Or we could drive 50 miles. After 45 minutes we stay in town.

First we go to the Black Bear. We've eaten here before. This time there was someone who was being very vocal about their service, a few different times. Staff was being very polite through it all. From what I could see, I think it was an off balance customer, no real issue with the food/service.

We've stayed at this Quality Inn before, another very small parking lot. This time there are already two trucks taking up eight or so of the parking spots.

Not sure what yet, but we will likely try to find something to do tomorrow ... if we have plans the chances of getting work seem to go up. :)
